So the first thing you should know about me is: I am the anti-thesis of a TV diva!
I don’t do make-up, I don’t do hair-do’s, and I mostly, I do not do trendy clothing. In fact I pretty much live in the same duds that I used to wear when I was 15.
I’ve struggled with “not-fitting-in” for much of my 20’s, 30’s and 40’s – purely because of the industry I’ve worked in – clothes, hair and make-up were all a huge, intrusive, part of my life and I just accepted that. Luckily I made friends, really good friends, with some of the other less-diva’ish women employed in TV, and they accepted me for who I am.
All that said, Stacy London (someone I secretly admire for having a “fuck-you” grey streak when women on TV are lauded for being blond and young) has just written an article that truly resonated with me..I think you will like it….so check it out here:
